HOME RESIDENTS BUSINESS LEISURE GOVERNMENT EN ESPAÑOL

Senior Savings Guide

The City of Springfield's Department of Elder Affairs and Community Services Division have released the Springfield Senior Savings Guide, a pamphlet designed for the benefit of senior residents.  The guide's purpose is to provide seniors with information on savings and discounts throughout the City to which they are entitled.

"I found, in my travels around Springfield, that people didn't know what they were eligible for," said Jan Denney, head of the Department of Elder Affairs.  "That's why we put this guide together."

The pamphlet details savings on everything from flu shots and transportation to trash collection and museum admission.  It also provides contact information for organizations dealing in senior services."

Everybody needs to save money, including seniors, especially during this time when every penny counts," said Denney.

The guide will be made available to seniors in hard copy and online in the coming weeks.
